Ralph's Biography

When Ralph Covert released his first “Ralph’s World” children’s album in 2001, Billboard magazine called it "the best children's album of this or any year." With six CDs, a video and a Grammy nomination under his belt, Ralph is really making an impression on the world of children’s music. But rather than writing typical, simplistic tunes for kids, he makes it a priority to craft music that parents can enjoy as well.

Ralph credits the birth of his daughter, Fiona, for turning him to children’s music. When asked to teach a toddler class at the Old Town School of Folk Music, he agreed with one condition – he would teach the class his way. Using his rock roots as a springboard, Ralph kept the same high-energy approach and attention to melody while integrating age-appropriate lyrics. The result was music that both kids and parents loved. Now Ralph is making stops across the U.S. with the Rice Krispies® Presents Ralph’s World House of Blues Tour, featuring special guests Snap!, Crackle! and Pop!®.

When he’s not writing catchy tunes or spending time with his family, Ralph works on his many side projects, which in the past have included “A Nutcracker Christmas,” an updated version of the classic aimed toward the current generation of kids, and a soundtrack for an exhibit at the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago.

The entire Ralph’s World catalogue, including the newest CD/DVD release titled “Welcome to Ralph’s World,” is available through Disney
