This cute snack is so much fun to make with your kids in springtime. They can help shape the nests and top them with their favorite jellybean "eggs."
I have a child that is allergic to peanuts, milk and eggs. She is 7 and has NEVER had birthday cake or ice cream, well, REAL birthday cake or ice cream. I use to make a soy ice cream and cake that she could eat but tasted like card board. I am & have always read every label of every item that goes in her mouth. Kellogg's is great for allergy minded parents...when I discovered that she could eat the rice krispies (I use a milk free margarine) I started making her birthday cake from 2 batches of treats in a big pan, I decorate with icing that I make and the other kids tell me they like her birthday cake better than regular birthday cake. I never have left overs....It is great!! She feels like the other kids & the other kids don't mind eating something that she can eat...a win-win situation. I now make all 4 of my children's birthday cakes a Rice Krispies Cake

1. I think the "eggs" are adorable and had to try....I have those Jello "egg" molds for jello jigglers....sprayed them, and formed "eggs" in there....when harder...I'll decorate by dipping in choclate and sprinkles.....and I am going to put in Easter cup cake muffin papers....and slip in a clear bag with tie to give Also, think I'll do the "nests"

2. This recipe works better when the treats have cooled just a bit. Also, I found it easier to mold the nests when using a full-size muffin pan. This also allowed for more room for the coconut and candy. Very cute and easy!
