Donna Erickson is the creator, executive producer and host of the award-winning family lifestyle TV series Donna's Day airing nationwide on PBS. For more than 20 years, Donna has inspired parents and educators to connect with kids through her fun, creative activities and recipes designed to develop lasting memories, strengthen family relationships and make the time spent with kids count.
Donna appears as a guest on Today, Oprah, CNN, HGTV and Discovery Channel. She has been a weekly King Features Syndicate columnist since 1990, a contributing editor for Parents magazine, and plays the live action role of Captain Wentworth on the PBS children's series Jay Jay the Jetplane. She is a speaker at national conferences for leading corporate and educational organizations such as Target, Discovery Toys, Hershey's, Playing for Keeps and PTA.
Her awards include a Gold Parents' Choice Award for her books, a Gold Parents' Choice Award for her TV series and a designation by the Associated Press as one of the "Top Ten Television Shows" in the United States for 1999.
Erickson holds a B.A. from North Park University in Chicago, where she received a Distinguished Alumnus Award in 2002. She also attained a master's degree from the University of Minnesota in second languages and cultures education. Donna speaks several languages and has lived and traveled abroad extensively. She has taught at the elementary, secondary and college levels in the United States, Sweden, Republic of Congo and Zambia. She lives in Minneapolis with her husband (a secondary school principal) and their three children.
